Latex¶

manualy install package¶

• download the package from CTAN (e.g., foo.zip)

• extract the files and place them in an appropriate directory

• generate the .sty file by running latex foo.ins (.sty) and latex foo.dtx (manual)

• copy .sty file into the LaTeX Texlive installation in Ubuntu: sudo cp foo.sty /usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/tex/latex/base

• update the ls-R file in this source tree: sudo mktexlsr

create a makefile¶

chmod u+x makefile
gedit makefile

• $@ for the makefile target

• $< for the first prerequisite

• $^ for names of all the prerequisites

• $* only for the % part
