• short data structures

• sharding to make larger structures small

• packing fixed-length data into STRINGs

ziplist¶

ziplist is more compact then general list, hash and zset. After a ziplist is converted to a regular structure, it doesn't get re-encoded as a ziplist if the structure later meets the criteria.

intset¶

will change intset to hashtable after the limit.
