Memory¶
methods to reduce memory¶
short data structures
sharding to make larger structures small
packing fixed-length data into STRINGs
ziplist¶
ziplist is more compact then general list, hash and zset. After a ziplist is converted to a regular structure, it doesn't get re-encoded as a ziplist if the structure later meets the criteria.
check the object info: r.debug_object('key')

hash-max-ziplist-entries 512

zset-max-ziplist-entries 128

intset¶
will change intset to hashtable after the limit.
sharding¶
not good for zset.
packing bits and bytes¶
commands: getrange, setrange, getbit, and setbit
